Answered radio ad for "A S&W 38 revolver." Called the guy who said it was a chrome 38 in "good condition". Got directions and drove 31 miles to his house.
He brings out a nickel 10-7 with a five inch barrel that looks like it was made yesterday! It was his late mother-in-laws
gun and his wife "just wants it out of the house". Had a box of Peters 38 Special 158 grain Metal Point rounds. Looks like
copper washed round nose. There were six missing. (Period ammo?)
Revolver is # 5D1450X.
Question: When was it manufactured?
