CHRISTMAS SHOPPING 101
Do not stop at your regular pawn shop first. Stopped just to say Merry Christmas and browse the gun counter, with no intention of buying. Next to the 586 duracoted Smith that has been there for months, was a 28-2 4", it was staring at me. Looked it over for a while, removed the grips, and asked for best price. The gun is in excellent shape, with very little use. The recoil shield is spotless. The young lady said it had just came out of pawn and didn't think the manager would take any off, because it had been looked at by several others earlier in the the day. Price was $359.99, and for me, he would include the tax. Wrap it up i'll take it, as the song goes by The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Glad I stopped by. This Christmas shopping is fun. Merry Christmas all.

Great snag, markeb. And Merry Christmas to you!
I did the same thing yesterday. Stopped by my local gun/junk shop for the same reason - to shoot the breeze and wish the owner a Merry Christmas. He seldom has anything that interests me, but there amongst the Tauruses and Rugers was this stone mint 1963 M15-2.

I didn't hesitate - bought it (and some grips, .357 brass, and a holster). I got my Christmas present and he got some holiday travel cash.

That was a steal on a model 28-2 4". One of the finest revolvers ever made.

Congratulations on the purchase of one of S&W best N frames and that's a great Christmas present so enjoy shooting it during the coming year.
My Christmas present is arriving at my FFL this afternoon and it's a new Deer rifle and it's a Savage American Classic Model 14 in 270 Win.
It will look exactly like this one in 308 Win that I bought a couple months ago.

My LGS said he might be getting an excellent one in on trade. If so he'll hold the 28-2 back and give me a call. Not sure this is really a good thing, but explains why they call them a dealer.

Oops. I've got to start thinking about buying the wife something. Maybe a gift certificate. I do have 2 days, or parts of them.

My wife and I were Christmas shopping in Boise a bit over a week ago. We went to Cabela's, and she told me, "I'm going to wander. Why don't you go look at guns." My first thought was, "Who are you and what have you done with my wife?" She said the same thing at Sportsman's Warehouse. I was looking at AR-15's in both stores. Her last comment when we left Sportsman's Warehouse was, "Can Elwood (local FFL) get it cheaper?" So far there's been no follow-up, but I do have a price all ready to quote on a M&P 15 Sport if she should ask...
Merry Christmas, y'all!
