Model 29-2 Six Inch?
My LGS has had a blue six-inch Model 29-2 in the case for close to a year. I'm headed up there tomorrow to take another look at it. If I recall (it's been a while since I stopped in) the price is $650.00/$695.00. It looks to be in 90% + condition. Is the price tag in the ball park or is he too "proud" of what it is? What would be a good offer to start? Thanks in advance for any advice.

If it has been there that long there is either something wrong with it or it is priced too high and he wont come down. A 6" -2 is not that uncommon and can be found in higher condition than 90% in the 6-7 hundred dollar range

Seems a fair price
The 6" Model 29-2 is actually less common than the 6-1/2", but for some reason ("Dirty Harry"?) not as desirable. I picked up a 6" (90%+) at a gun show about a year ago for $500 and considered myself extremely lucky. It's very accurate and fun to shoot. The price at your LGS is in line with what I've seen around lately. If you can find any M29-2 for under $700, I think it's a deal. Just be sure to really check it out mechanically before you decide buy it.

The 6 inch blued Model 29-2 is usually the cheapest to buy and I bought a 98% one for $600.
