What is the difference between a Model 17 and a Model 18 ?

Both are K frame 22's but,

The Model 17 usually has a 6" barrel with a Patridge front site and a wide rib heavier barrel, (22 caliber version of the model 14)


The Model 18 has a tapered barrel with Baughman ramp front site and narrow barrel rib, (22 caliber version of the Model 15).

About two inches of barrel as the model 18 has a 4 inch barrel and the model 17's are generally come in 6 inch or 8 3/8 inch barrels.
