Fuzzy Farrant N-Frame Grips
What would be the going/fair price for a pair of Fuzzy Farrant Coco-Bolo checkered grips for an S&W N-frame revolver? I think they were made in Los Angeles in the 1970's, but look new.
I'll try to post photos this weekend.

FWIW, IMHO....
Top price on Farrant stocks seems to be $150 - $175, with checkered stocks bringing higher than smooth.
A checkered pair sold here a couple of weeks ago for $100. I have seen a pair languish at a $350 asking price. Too high.
I have recently bought Farrants for as low as $40.
Non-Farrant stocks are sometimes misidentified as Farrant. Since Farrant did not mark his grips, we can never be sure, but there are common features besides having fingergrooves, such as color pencil numbers and sometimes a frame designation, e.g., K or N, stamped inside.
Quality will also tell.
Stark and Blackford are reportedly similar, but we don't know much about them. The Stark identified grips on Mike Priwer's K-38 from LAPD chief Davis look just like Farrant.
Always eager to see another set.

Farrant N's are hard to find in good condition. My meager collection of Farrants are these, all in perfect unused condition.

YMMV, but.....
I had a set of N SQ butt Farrants similar to the set on the far right in the post above. I had them on a 4" M-57. In my opinion they were far too THIN and handled even moderate recoil poorly.....or painfully.
I still have a set of J RD butt Farrants. great grips on smaller frames.

Here is a set that came off of a Colt New Service.
I never cared that much for them because of the thumb rest.

Well, that is fixable.
Very unusual in a New Service; thanks for the pictures.
The profile at the top of the right grip is not the usual Farrant. It's rather Hurst-like. As soon as I say that, you will probably wave the order sheet at me...... Plus, I've always said Stark, Farrant, Hurst or Hogue could probably turn out a set that looked like it came from one of the others.
P.S. Anything written inside the panels? A tell for Hurst.

Some Farrant and Hogue grips required cutting the front part of the frame to properly install. The serial number could be defaced to make them fit. Not a good idea in today's world, although it seems to have been ok back when they were made, or they would hopefully, not have made them that way.

Hurst
Check pictures from Larry21556 in this great grip thread. His Hurst is very much like the New Service grip above from Mike.

While we're waiting for Gold, somthing for Mike -- a customized New Service by a famous pistolsmith before-he-was-famous with grips by a local artist.

I had a set of what I believe are Fuzzy K frame smooth rosewood grips for sale a while back and they attracted no attention. They were on a 14-3 which was part of an estate. Many of the estate guns had custom grips. I was only interested in the model 14-3 and not the grips. Maybe I was asking too much. I do know they felt really good shooting .357 magnums on my 13-2.

Stocks on 14-3
They do have that distinctive little dimple behind the trigger guard but I don't see any other Farrant styling cues. Other cues are early Hogue.
The inletting side is always interesting for hints.

Thank you for your insight, and others who provided input. It's a steep learning curve for me. Not knowing what I have, I plan to keep them on the 13-2.

I have a set on a Model 19, palm swell and checkered on the right side, flat and smooth on the left. Love em! Ordered them from Fuzzy back in the late 70's, wished I had bought more.
