Default Straighten me out on my 25-2

Hi All- I have a 25-2 pinned barrel "N" serial # revolver, and I would like to know which of these guns were 6 inch barrel, and which were 6 1/2. Thanks for your help. Flapjack.

Per the SCSW it changed in 1979 6 1/2 to 6in
I have a NIB 25-2 N829XXX that has a 6in barrel the Book shows 1980-83 ...
But, I'm sure there are some longer barrels that shipped later than 1979
My Model 25 No Dash S189XXX shows manufacter date of 58/59 but, didn't ship till April 1960

I have N689202 (note my total lack of paranoia) and it has a 6.5" barrel. I think this gun dates from 1980. As always, S&W used up parts in inventory after the official word was given to make changes.

Default 6.5 25-2

I got a 25-2 back in 1980 or 81 when my wife had a Benton county deputys commission that was a 61/2" length, we got it from Farriors police supply in L. Rock, also got a 6" from John Jovino to build up a bull barrel PPC rig. Jeff

Never say never with S&W,

I have 2 Model 25-2's. Both blued with 6-1/2" bbls.

The one in the N405 thousand range shipped February,
1979.

The other in the N613 thousand range, serial numbered
208,123 higher, shipped March, 1979, one month later.

except to say, "You never know!".
