Sounds to me like you need to trade it for a like model 66 to fare better in that SC humidity. Being from Alabama, I know this - and yet I prefer blued steel to stainless from the aesthetic standpoint. Some feel the same about SS however.

But I've had guns like that too- thought I really wanted them but after I got them, I couldn't quite make them work for me, and so traded them down the road. That's what makes us trade (guns, trucks, horses...)
