The N is stamped on the cylinder under the extractor star along
with the last 4 digits of the serial #.

Yes, it is original. The man worked at Smith and Wesson and took it out
of the vault and bought it when he was leaving the company.
Roy Jinks picked it out for him.

Another fine example of why we can say they don't make them like they used to...

Wow Allen

My grail gun! That's the revolver you wait a lifetime to find. You'll be eating Raman Noodles for a while when you pay for that one but it'll be worth it. :D

Beautiful. That's the complete package with the correct box and all. I just love the nickel K22's.

I notice that you have stated a '1970' manufacture. The SCSW does list that serial number range as a 1970 gun. But, on page 135, they identify a 'Variation' as a "Rare configuration: In 1975, 15 revolvers were made in 6" nickel, square butt, with target hammer and target trigger, in serial number range 1K3034 to 1K3655".
That is contrary to the date listed as manufacture. So, I wonder what is up with that.

Thanx for posting pics.

Thanks for the heads up B.D. I missed that in the book.

One of Fifteen, I guess that makes it pretty special.

Found on the bottom of page 183 in the S.C.S.W. 3rd.

Impressive find, pretty hard to top.Good luck with the purchase.

Very nice Allen. I have a 14-3 #1K 23xx, an 18-3 # 1k 63xx, and a 15-3 #1K 100xx, all were made in 1970. Interesting that they used #'s right in the middle of a 5 year old range. Joe

1,000,000.00$ :p .

The value of a gun like this is determined as a seller and a buyer get
together to dicker.

The value would ultimately be determined at a well advertised auction
where motivated buyers were bidding.

My guess is between $1200. to $2600.

But,, who the heck really knows?

In that shape with the correct box-I'd say a lot closer to $2,600 than $1,200. I passed on one about 5 years ago not knowing what it was (price at the table was $450 :(). I understand it now resides in Texas.

That is about as awesome of a find to a Postwar K frame collector as I have seen in a looooong time. Wow! Thanks for sharing!
...and congratulations!
