Default N frame question

I've got the N frame bug and I'm looking to add another N frame to the collection.

I have a 5" pre-27 that balances perfectly in the hand and is a fabulous shooter. Initially, I though about adding a 3 1/2" model 27, but now I'm thinking about a different caliber, something that starts with a 4.

I'd like to hear people's opinions regarding 44 special vs 45 colt vs 45 ACP. (Looking for a nice range gun that's accurate and fun to shoot.) The model 22 looks like it would be a great handling handgun with the 5 1/2" barrel.

Also, what is the difference between the model 25 and 26.

Thanks!

The model 26 has a tapered barrel while the model 25 has a heavy barrel. The model 26 is the Model 1950 .45 Target. It is normally found with a 6 1/2" tapered barrel in .45 ACP. The model 25 was the Model 1955 .45 Target. It has a 6 1/2" heavy barrel (later reduced to 6") in .45 ACP. The 25 was developed in response to target shooters who complained that the model 26 recoiled too much. As far as whether the .44 special, .45 ACP or .45 Colt is best for target shooting, I have a model 24 (identical to the 26, but in .44 special), a model 25-5 in .45 Colt and several model 625s in .45 ACP. I would hate to have to choose because I like them all.
