J frame airweight questions
Are the Titanium and Scandium airweight revolvers prone to cracked frames like the aluminum ones? Are the Airweight .22/.22mags prone to frame cracking or is this just a .38 caliber thing?

Don't worry too much about the frame cracking. The wave of people on the Forum talking about it the past few weeks makes the problem seem worse than it is.
Just buy the gun that you really want. If your gun is the one in ten thousand that cracks, you can get another one from the factory.

Would love to have an airweight. My 640 is a great revolver but still, a little heavy for pocket carry.

I just sent an Airweight in for a cracked frame issue, and this won't stop me from carrying/buying more Airweights. They're great guns and the weight advantage over steel framed guns is substantial.

Had never looked at the airweights much. After handling a few in the gun shop, the weight difference compared to an all steel is very appealing. I see one (or two) in my future. Would love to get one for the wife. I hate to give mine up when she and the kids travel without me, but I do. Thinking of getting her one in .22 or .22 mag, and getting myself one in .38.

There's a lifetime repair/replace warranty as you know, have no fear, the factory will make things right by you.

I bought this one for $450 OTD about 2 years ago. I found another one for $350 a month age and bought it too (dollar cost average to $400) I love them. Carry them with non +P HP's but I wouldn't feel unarmed with 158 lead RN's @ 700fps. The weight advantage of these guns is superlative. I can put one in the waistband of jogging shorts, unlike just about any other gun of similar capability. Joe

Cabela's did have one on closeout a month or so back for $349, new. It was a no-lock 642. I probably couldnt be so lucky as to find it still there. Oh, well.

Budspolicesupplies has them often, though not right now, for $320 shipped to your FFL. To obtain that price you just need to be former/active military, police,EMS.
I'm waiting for them to get back in stock, then going to buy another 642.
