Default perfect combo old 28 and HRichard ammo

Some truly great people here.
HRichard is definitely one of them.
Started a few years back.
I had a gun and he had it's mate of a holster.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I thought I recognized him looking for some 38 brass.I had a bit gathering dust so He paid me to ship it to him.
I feel bad about that.
Well on top of that I get some custom stuff to try

Fun time!!!!

My son He's 11 and I just got back from a little S&W jam session
Had a 4 screw 17 a never fired by me 4" 29-2 and a 6" 28-2
Well the 28 liked what it was getting fed
Thank you Sir

The 28

The 10 shot group

Darn, you threw one out! (Of the X that is). Maybe I need to adjust my crimp!. Great shooting, I see what fits into that Heiser holster. How did your 11 yr old do with that 17? Wonderful gun to start him on.

I did a side by side on that same load (2.7 Bullseye) and 3.0 Gr 231. They shoot identical, same POI and same group size. I think 231 is cleaner than Bullseye. I haven't chrono'd them yet, but when the temp gets somewhat warmer I'll see if that shows any difference.

I did throw one out and wasn't happy about it either.
I knew where it was headed before it got there.
I have a tendency to not keep my wrists locked in follow through
and throw some low left or high right because of that.

My son I've just started with handguns
I asked him if he wanted to go to the range last night and low and behold he did.The 17 wears his set of combats.S&W stocks are something
we are starting to collect together.I think that's what got him to go in the
first place was to try his grips.

I pulled this target after his first 3 shots
His best of the night

Looks like he is being taught pretty well. For your younger ones, see if you can fine a Mod 34 or 63, with a 4" barrel. The J frame fits the smaller hands good, as well as the lighter weight and doesn't give up much if anything in accuracy to the 17.
