Default Saw a pre 10 the other day...

...while noodling around my favorite LGS. I say pre-10 since there was no model number on the crane and it's definitely a K frame.

Here's the thing....while the finish was pretty worn - I'd say 50% - it had a serial number starting with V**** and had a hole in the base of the grip frame for what I assume was a lanyard ring.

Would this be a WWII Victory model? They were asking $225. And while it was showing its age, lock up was tight as a tick.

Whatcha think? Did I miss a deal?

(I have a 10-5 in nearly pristine shape that shoots beautifully...not like I NEED another...)

Buy it. That's still a great price, assuming its shootable, for a s&w, whatever the cosmetic condition. Id have bought it, despite the "why do you need another one" argument once home (don't have so many the wife wouldnt notice another... yet).

If it doesn't have a chopped barrel like a lot of them do it is worth the asking price. Is it 38 special or 38 S&W? If it is a navy issue model?
