Default 29-1 4 inch 3 screw, the real deal.

The recent thread concerning a supposed faked 29-1 4 inch blue example got me energized to show the real deal and to also show a gun that is an honest, holster carried revolver that many collectors and safe queen hoarders of which I am certainly one of, would ordinarily not consider a worthwile investment. However, my thought has always been that if a gun is scarce/rare enough, and this one certainly is due to it being 1. a -1 and 2. the only 4 inch one found to date, it is worth collecting regardless the condition. Plus I can safely take it out and shoot without regret or fear of taking away from its value. I was actually hoping the one found at Cabelas in TX would turn out to be one that could be documented, but unfortunately, it just had too many issues and will never letter cleanly. This is a shame because it would have been the highest serial number and latest shipped 4 inch -1 known. This one S227230 is the lowest serial number 3 screw 29-1 documented thus far and it just happens to be a 4 inch barrel. It is also the earliest shipped 29-1 I believe. This is getting way down in the weeds I realize, but it's what keeps me interested in collecting this model.
Enjoy
Chuck

Lee all the sharp edges especially on the cylinder are worn through to the white. Great mechanics though. Must be the lighting today. If you look at my post of the 4 29-1s in different barrel lengths you can better see what I'm referring to.

My pre 29 has the same look as far as holster wear. I like to refer to as good honest wear. We don't have to argue about if the gun has been refinished. Thanks for the post it inspires us to keep looking under all the rocks and just maybe we will find a prize.

There's no need to rationize. It's a nice old beater.

I think this will be at least the 4th keyboard I've had to replace.....due to the drool from looking at your guns.

Keep em coming! Amazing.
