Default 25-2 Dual Caliber?

I picked up a 25-2 in 45ACP. I have a newer 625 . Is it possible to get an extra cylinder fit to shoot 45LC along with 45ACP? I know it may seem trivial but figured it was worth asking. Would the assumption be correct it would be cheaper to just get the Mountain Gun?

And I know the unwritten rule of gun porn so here she is....

I have a 25-2 and I don't believe it's possible, because I think there is inadequate space for the longer 45 colt cylinder.

You can use Auto-rim cases though.

You can go the other way, already a .45 Colt, another cylinder for .45 ACP can be fitted.
My M28 I had bored out to .45 Colt & had a 1955 .45 ACP cylinder fitted with the 1955 .45 barrel.

It is possible, but it would be expensive. The .45 ACP cylinder is shorter than the cylinder for a M25-5. You would have to find a non-recessed M27 or M28 cylinder and have it rebored and rechambered to .45 Colt. Then, you would be limited to cartridges that are the same length as factory .45 Colt.

An additional problem is that the short cylinder on the M25-2 requires a thicker frame lug (the protrusion on the side of the frame that limits the rearward movement of the cylinder in the open position). This would not mate well with the longer .45 Colt cylinder. The Colt cylinder is longer because the headspace is less as opposed to the ACP cylinder.

Asked many times and the answer is always the same: not practical.

Buy a 25-5 if you want to shoot 45 Colt ammo.
