And now it's time to play... Grip ID
I was fortunate enough to work out a deal with jesseatamez for these interesting custom grips. The only markings on the grips are the letters RHN. At first I thought maybe the maker was just marking the blank as the right-hand, but then i noticed that there is an identical marking on the left grip. So can we assume that the maker, or original owner of the grips had the initials RHN? I've searched through the Gunmaker's Guild and didn't see anyone with those initials.
As to the grips themselves, they are very well made. There was some synthetic filler in the stocks that I carefully removed. I can only guess that it was some kind of bedding job, however it was keeping the grips from fitting on any of my N frames properly. Once removed the grips popped right onto this 29-2 perfectly. The checkering is very fine and professionally executed, as is the finish. The design is unlike any I've seen in that there is a ledge both above and below the trigger finger. It is comfortable, but as you can see it would stick out quite a bit if you were to carry it. Other than that they do seem more like a combat style grip though, rather than targets. They are quite short, extending just far enough below the frame as to allow the pinky on a big paw like mine to grasp. The palm swell (with its plugged screw hole) is noticeable, but the shape of the grip keeps it from being overwhelming.
I really am quite pleased with them, but would love to find out who made them. Any ideas? Oh yeah, the last two photos are showcasing my awesome new prop rod from dacoontz.

Except it seems to have the thumb rest for a left-handed shooter?
Hope you find out who made them.

Palm swell is on the right. Trigger finger goes over the raised area to the trigger. Same type raised area on the left side for the thumb.
My humble guess.

Definitely right handed grips.
The checkering does have that Nill look, but if they are Nill, they are old ones, as these definitely weren't CNC inletted. Is Nill a person, and if so what were his initials? I haven't measured the LPI, but it is a lot. I don't think they are Sandersons. No numbers on the back, his checkering doesn't usually go right up to the border as cleanly as these, and I've never seen any of his grips with the screw hole plugged.

I agree with gdogs.
They do resemble Sanderson's work, but I have doubts that they are. Sanderson grips typically have a scallop at the front top of the checkering, his checkering usually isn't that fine (lines per inch) and he wasn't as careful cutting up to the borders. I've never seen Sanderson's with a plugged escutcheon and he didn't leave the inside area behind the trigger guard roughed out like that. Here's a few photos to compare.
On the pro side, the border at the bottom looks very similar as does the hardware. The fact that there's no number inside doesn't mean rule out Sanderson, he didn't always stamp them.
Whatever they are, they're very nice!

Yep, I've got a set that he made that aren't stamped with numbers either. I think the checkering on these really rules them out as Sandersons. They could be some early high grade Herrett's, though the plugged hole doesn't really seem to fit their style.
