Default 27-2 Came Home Today!

Thanks to the advice of the forum members here, I finally came home with a 27-2 6" nickel. I'll defer to the experts here - perhaps you can offer confirmation based on my (lousy) photos, but it seems this gun was hardly fired. By my estimation this gun is as close to LNIB (95%++) as a 30 year old gun can be, but I'll leave it to you guys to set me straight. There is a tiny bit of flame cutting at the topstrap, and there are a couple nicks in the extractor (not sure how the heck that happened), but other than that, this gun seems a gem. Bore clean and bright, timing perfect, no endshake at all on lockup, grip checkering is sharp and clean... the list goes on. The box is kind of ratty (some light scratches and dings, plastic is cracking apart), but it actually came with the original literature and warranty card!!! It seems it's everything a collector grade gun ought to be, but again - I'm looking for feedback.

I'm asking because at some point I might like to trade for a shorter barrel (3.5" or 4") and want to be sure I describe the condition accurately. Then again, who knows - I might become fond of the longer barrel. If there's any insight you can offer about this puppy, please chime in. Serial number is in the 652xxx range. Yeah, I know there are those of you who think it's silly to put x's in the number, but I'm one of those "better-safe-than-sorry-what-they-don't-know-won't-hurt-me" kinda guys.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Nice 27-2. I think you left the N off the SN. Assuming that, your gun's SN date range is 1979-80. If you want to restore the box velvet, I know someone who does it. OBTW, nice bayonet in picture 6 .

LOL. Not a bayonet, that's just a kitchen knife got in the way.

Please do PM me with the information on how to get the plastic rebuilt.

ETA: Note the 'bayonet bread knife' is in proximity to the 'assaut coffee pot' and the 'high capacity cookie clip'.

Very nice Model 27-2 and the presentation case can easily be restored by Joe Cebull a forum member.

He's at this email Joe Cebull ([email protected])

Here's a presentation case with a 27-2 5 inch he did for me.

Very nice M27s guys. One of these days I'm going to get something that deserves a presentation case.

RKBAGUY: That is a very nice 27-2. Don't even think about selling or trading. Just wait and buy another M-27 and another and another. . . . .
Well you get the idea.

Unfortunately, I don't happen to have any spare cash lying around for multiple acquisitions (the economy being as it is), but I have been giving some serious thought to a trade so I can get to the shorter barrel length I prefer.

Might cross-post to the classified section and see if anyone might be interested in some sort of deal...

Man thats a nice one in very good condition.
I'd shoot a couple cylinders full out of it before
thinking about trading that one. The 3 1/2" guns
are way cool as are the 4" and 5" model 27's but
it would be hard to let go of that one if it we're me.
