Just picked up this 19-3
I came across this 19-3 marked $300 at a local gun shop. My first handgun was a 4" 19 (-5 I think) that I bought in 1985 and foolishly sold a couple of years later. I've been on the lookout for one for a while now and decided to give this one a good home. The serial # is K991XXX and I'm guessing it's from the early 70's. Can't wait to get some original target stocks on it.
*UPDATED* - Just got these factory target stocks from user 410bore.

Yep ya stole it for that price!
I picked up my first of 2 P&R Smith's a little over a year ago... A 19-3 in 4". I knew the minute I decided I was buying it that I would NEVER sell it!

Wow, $300. I paid $250 about eight years ago for my beater 19-3. It's an ex-LEO gun and has been through the ringer. BUT, lock-up is great and shoot great too. The model 19's are great K frames. Enjoy.

Okay. You guys are forcing my hand. I am very fond of the Model 19-3 revolvers. Here are my two favorites:

I have a 4" -3, and it's one of the nicest wheelguns I have ever held. I paid a heck of a lot more than you did. (no regrets either)

You found the deal, I gave more than I wanted to, but after I shot this one, I'm very glad I didn't pass it up. 19s are greatness.

Sweet pistol, and for $300 jeez.
I never see one for anywhere near that price.

Nice find at a very nice price - assuming the right side of the gun looks as good as the left side. Congrats!!

Great price on that. Last one I found around here they were asking way too much.
I love the 19s. A 2.5" -5 is one of the best shooters in my safe.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'm planning on it this week. I'm sure it will shoot great, I know the one I had 25 years ago did.

Here's the right side. I have to admit, it looked like a $300 gun when I first saw it. The shop had just taken it in on trade and it was pretty grimy. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home and cleaned it up.

I'm in Southern Oklahoma, around the Arbuckle area. This was a great deal for around here too.
