I picked this 1971-72 Model 36 3" up off a local forum, had to drive about 5 miles to get it.:D , lots of holster wear to the cylinder and muzzle but nice and tight. Figured it would be a good truck gun. Today I won a Thad Rybka holster on eBay for $39. Didn't know anything about this holster maker but did some research and found an article about him and read where Skeeter Skelton gave him high praise many years ago. Thought it would be a good match-up. I'm not sure what MF stood for and kind of afraid to ask but I don't think anyone will be looking that close anyway.

Probably means mighty fine.

Best,
Rick

I think you scored big time on both the nickel 36 and the holster. I remember reading about Thad Rybka holsters back in the day (1980's & 90's) but don't recall ever seeing a photo of one. I like the adjustable tension screw feature. It's not too easy to find a 3" jframe holster, glad you snagged one that looks nice.

MR. Fricks,I have known Thad Rybka for about 35 years and he has made me more than a dozen holsters over those years.
Thads whole life style goes back to more primitive times. He has a phone, but only a few old customers have the number. If you wish to contact him, his snail mail address is:2050 Canoe Creek Road,Springville, Alabama,35146. If you write he will tell you how to contact him[send your phone number].
As you can see from the 1993 holster you have[ the 93 next to his initials on the back is the year he made it], Thad is a first class craftsman and applies a great deal of "gun savvy" to his designs.
BTW: if you wish to sell that holster please PM me. Hope this helps. Nick

i have a rybka open-top owb for a glock 26/27, and it is definitely a work of art! probably my favorite holster.

i think tom selleck is a big fan of rybka's. he sure makes some nice stuff!!!

Well it arrived today and I have to say it is a fine holster. Fits my 36 3" like a glove. I was wondering what the '93' stood for, nice to know. I believe this is a keeper.
