Post Identify YOM for two 98% 10-7's

I've owned both of these pistols for several years. Apart from the occasional wipe down, they've been properly stored and retain their NIB original finish. Seriously, these pistols look brand spankin' new.

I still have the original box, the parts list/instructions for use/ maintenance/specifications, blank warranty card/authorized warranty card, ammunition card and 'Holsters for your new gun' insert, and the bore brush (with black plastic tip) for the 6".

10-7 6"
Serial number: 5D2400X
Inner frame: 86403 C11

10-7 4"
Serial number: 6D2209X
Inner frame: 07278 A7

Any help in determining the year of manufacture and approximate value for these two gems would be very appreciated. Thanks!

10-7 6" Serial number: 5D2400X = 1979

10-7 4" Serial number: 6D2209X = 1980

The current blue book value @ 98% shows $400 each but varies depending on location.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum,
s3dcor nailed the dates, but these dates are shipping dates, not production dates. S&W didn't keep track of the date of manufacture, only the date they shipped the firearm from the factory.
