N629100, N629187, and N629193 are three of the 100 prototype Model 629s made by S&W (approximately 139 frames were made, but many were destroyed during testing). N629187 was highly polished and factory engraved and inlaid with gold in 2001 by S&W's Master Engraver, Wayne D'Angelo (it was also shipped with Nill grips). The other two were kept in the factory collection and used by various individuals until being sold in the 80s and 90s.

Doc
What store do you shop in? Is there a line waiting for it to open?

What is involved with "destroyed in testing" actually mean? did they test with proof loads until it was no longer considered safe or was it just cycled to until it was worn out? or both?

I believe it usually means they didn't like something about the frame, and it was chopped up.

We need a "hate" button, or maybe a "jealous" button would be a better choice.
