Garage sale K22
I just bought a S&W model 17 with a six inch barrel at a garage sale. No box or papers but piece is 98 percent. Looking for a date of manufacture and the serial number is K632xxx. I paid the handsome fee of 125.00 and yes, I feel a bit guilty, but not enough to give it back. Thank you for your help.

I knew I was gonna hate this thread as soon as I read the subject! Where do people find these garage sales?!! All I ever see is baby clothes and junk nobody would really want.  good on you though, I'm happy for you, you thief!

1965
Smith & Wesson 17-2
found all the goodies afterwords(the wax paper isn't correct for the era)

Yes, I also scored an equally nice model 58 4" for the same price. I didn't want the 41 so I sold it for a nice profit. Please know that I go to many garage and estate sales.....the luckiest ever for me. I will most likely never find another like that one. Hope you got at least $700+ for the M58 if it was in like condition.The 58's have been really hot lately.

Great find! Since I Never find bargains like that, I'll
just sit here in awe and amazement. From what I hear/read
about your firearm, there's no way you could have done
better. Congratulations on finding, and on being
prepared to make the buy, at short notice.
