27-2 : Gun Show Pick Up

I went to the gun show today with the intent, no, purpose of selling my 29-2. As it turns out I have both bad news and good news. The bad news is I didnt sell the 29-2. The good news is I bought a 27-2 to keep the rest of my long barrel revolvers company. The wife is not happy

This was simply too clean to not pick up. It has been fired but not much at all. There's barely a turn line. It has one small freckle on the barrel. Serial number is N360xxx, which I think is mid 1975. I am just addicted to 8 3/8" N frame revolvers. I had a hard time passing up on a M25-2 8 3/8" but I dont have any other guns in .45 Colt and I didnt want to have to start buying or reloading another caliber. Plus this 27-2 was in much better condition than the 25 and the price was the same.

Now your not going to be able to sell that 29-2 or the 27 will be without
a big brother to keep him out of trouble.

WOW. Very nice. I also have a 27-2, 29-2 and a 48 all in 8 3/8". I like the long barrels too!. Brian

Very nice! As soon as I figure out how to upload pics I'd like to post pics of my 4 long barreled N frames, 29-2, 27-2, 25-5, and a 57 no dash. I like the long barrels too!

Nice looking 27! FYI- The 25-2 was most likely chambered in 45 ACP; not 45 Colt.

That is the first 8 3/8" 27-2 that I have seen with a red ramp front. All that I can remember is the Patridge front. Very nice find & thanks for sharing! DLB

Or even more likely it was really a 25-5.

thanks dblx2. you bring up a great point that i totally missed. yeah, the red ramp and white outline rear is a 4" M27 feature, I believe. I didnt even think about that. I guess I need to pull her from the safe and give it a more thorough look to see any if there is any indication of either the front sight being swapped or the barrel being swapped. I dont recall seeing anything that made me wonder while ogling it last night

Flundertaker I have one just like it I t has the red ramp front site also
