S&W Model 19-2 ca. 1965
With all the talk of model 19's on the forum lately, I finally got off my rump and got some new grips installed on my 19-2. I picked up this little sweetheart in a trade with a forum member. She is serial number K683... placing her in 1965 according to my guide book. The score line on the cylinder proves some use, but no abuse. Just check out that case coloring on the hammer!!! She's a keeper for sure. I think I chose some good replacement stocks, since the originals were nowhere to be found. I might pick up some period correct targets just to have some on hand, but the elk grips were calling my name. Enough jibber-jabber...
I couldn't resist taking a picture of my slowly growing Smith collection. The 19-2 and cousin 28-2 from 1968. My eyes are always searching the gun cases for another addition.

You're off to a really good start, but I have some bad news for you: The more you have, the more you'll want.....and it never ends. Good luck.

Two great revolvers, in great condition. That's a fine way to start a first class collection.

Yep. Two very nice S&W .357s. I have a soft spot in my heart for the 4" Highway Patrolman - one of these was the first centerfire revolver I owned for myself, many, many years ago. I've had several more over the years. They are fine sidearms.
I'm not usually too partial to aftermarket stocks, but that elk pair looks particularly nice on the 19-2. Good choice.
