Model 10-6 .357 Magnum - quick range report
I took 7 S&W revolvers to the range yesterday, with the intention of just function firing the ones I have acquired that I never shot and, well, enjoying a couple of favorites. So I fired 6 out of the 7 because I had someplace to go and because the Model 64 DAO tired me out! Wow - it was like working hand grips that trigger was so hard. But I digress....
The recently acquired 4" heavy barrel Model 10-6 .357 Magnum was a pleasure to shoot. Those big grips are sweet! (All shooting was done with standard velocity FMJ .38 Special rounds). As noted, I was just really just quickly function firing some guns so I didn't spend a great deal of time with this revolver but I ran a cylinder full through at 3 yards double action, then 3 yards single action, then 7 yards double action, and 15 yards single action (I get really lost vision-wise at distance - I obviously need new glasses!).
I got a nice tight group the first time, a tighter group the second time (to be expected), a reasonable group the third time, and lo and behold, even with the blur I was in the ten ring at 15 yards. I'll wring it out in greater depth when I bring it to the range alone but, suffice to say, it runs very, very well.
