Date me Model 63 no dash
Could you plz date this model 63 for me. SN: M152XXX.....do you think $700 is too much for this gun. Comes with grips, box and papers. In excellent condition. I'm thinking 80'-81'??
Thanks ahead, Richard

Your date assessment is in line with the SCSW. Box and papers increase the value and these models don't show up much. I would think $700 is the maximum asking price. Question is are you going to be able to find any 22lr to shoot in it.

It's being shipped as we speak! Yes, I have been buying 22lr for years, and I won't ever sell it. Each bullet will be going through a chamber of one of my guns.

I have a 63 s/n M155xxx and it was shipped Feb. 1981 if that is a help. Yours is just 2000 to 3000 less than that so possibly late 1980.

As the proud owner of a blued Kit Gun, I cast about for a bit a while back looking to pick up a Model 63. What I found was that the darn things were expensive once you found one in nice condition (which wasn't all that easy, either). I personally think $700 is too much to pay for one, but it is not very far off the going price in today's market. In other words, I don't think you got "taken." In a year, it might even seem cheap.
Congrats on picking up a nice little revolver. I doubt you will ever be sorry. One of these days I might stumble on one at a better price, but I don't think I'll hold my breath.

I've got one in that serial number range with box and only paid $215 for it so I think $700 is kinda high. (course I bought it back in May of 1982 )

$215.00 in 1982 had the same buying power as $533.04 in 2014.
Annual inflation over this period was 2.88%.
So I was say you still got a good deal. Unfortunately, demand is high for these smith's now so the market has us buyers looking at crazy prices
