Whats the diff?
I have two identical m27-2 n frame 6" revolvers. Ones in the world famous s&w nickel finish while the other one is in the bright blue s&w finish. Both have target stocks, wider hammer and wider trigger. Where the stocks, front sights, trigger and hammer options for target shooting? Or is this the standard m27-2? Or are there different options that came with them.

Actually I'll have to correct myself. Target hammer and trigger were standard on the -2's from 1975 onward.

If you can find a set and get someone to install them. Sometimes they drop in and fit fine, other times, much more trouble. The hard part is finding replacement parts that have not been made for a probably 20 years or more, and have not been in a gun, or used much.

The 27 was always the most deluxe revolver in the S&W line. Generally they came with standard hammer, trigger and Magna stocks although any of the target options could be ordered. In either 1974 or 1975 (I can never recall which) full target options (including the 3.5" version which was a mistake IMO) became standard as did the the wooden box. The 6" and longer guns have the Patridge front siight except for some of the uncommonly seen 6.5" guns which can have either ramp or Patridge.
