Default Gun Shop/Donut Shop

Stopped at nearby lgs for the free coffee & donuts. And that coffee cost plenty!

At first I was safe. Nothing new in the cases. Then I made the mistake of asking "Uncle Joe" if he had anything in the back. Wetdog happened to be there and brought a beautiful 12-2 Air Weight out to look at. Oh boy oh boy.

It dates to 1972-73 per SCSW. Original stocks numbered to the gun, pinned barrel, correct box with label and papers. With the original owner's name & address in the box to boot. I was smitten! Can you blame me?

Can anyone tell me about the metal in frame and barrel. I plan to shoot .38 RN 110 grain Lite Loads. Nothing heavier.

Thanks Bud for taking such good care of your gun. It is greatly appreciated..

Them "free" donuts will get ya everytime!
Nice find. It looks almost un-fired! How much did the coffee and do-nuts set you back....the model 12 was free right?
Reguardless...it was a SWEET find.

Very nice indeed. There have been model 12's that have cracked frames, in fact I purchased one that went un-noticed until I cleaned it. Your appears to be unfired so that issue probably isn't present in your gun.

Aluminum frame, steel cylinder and barrel. Should be safe for +P but not pleasant to shoot that heavy of a load.

I use Buffalo's 125 grain JHP standard pressure load in airweights, good performance, sensible recoil

Nice.....and free donuts too....

My LGS couldn't stay in business if he had to supply donuts every day. We'd literally eat him out of house and home.....

Oh my that is a good looking mod.12. I know what you mean about the "just stopping by" the gun shop. I did the same thing a few days ago and put down on an early mod.586, when I'm suppose to be saving money. Oh well... I see them as investments that I get to enjoy. Hope the donuts were good.

Very nice model 12. It's a Model 10 in a air weight package. I wouldn't be too quick to go to +P. I have seen several posts where the model 12 has cracked the frame too. Not sure of vintage. But with that nice of a gun I am sure you have others for CCW that you can beat up with +P ammo. I know where it's brother 4" in that condition lives if your interested. Not mine but my LGS.
