Also wondering if it's okay to shoot lead wadcutters in this pistol, also what is the best bullet weight for accuracy ?

Target wadcutters are fine for your m37 and very comfortable to shoot in an airweight which has pretty stout recoil with full power loads. S&W regulates their .38 revolvers to shoot point of aim with 158 grain bullets. Lighter weight bullets usually shoot lower. Nice acquisition.

My 37 no dash (1968), shoots where you aim at 10 yards with 158 grain LRN standard pressure ammo. I like it a lot but it does whack the web of my hand which is old and thin. I carry it most of the time.
Peace,
Gordon

Yes, my 37 (which I no longer have) handled standard loads just fine. I inadvertently shot some +P once, again with no ill effects, but I don't think they're recommended on a regular basis.
I used to think that the 37 wasn't all that uncomfortable to shoot, but then I shot my big heavy (by comparison) Rossi model 68 snubbie in a side by side, and it felt like a .22 when contrasted with the 37. Rubber grips will help.
