Another of my Favorite Smiths
This is another of my favorite Smith & Wesson revolvers . It is a Model 19-4 with Class C engraving and it's in a presentation case. I acquired it at an auction when Mandalls Shooting Supplies went out of business arounf 15 years ago. I requested a research letter from S&W and here's a summary of what I received.
The pistol was shipped from the factory on April 10,1980 and delivered to Arizona Hardware Company in Phoenix, AZ. Their records indicate the pistol was shipped with a 6" barrel, blue finish Class C engraved and with smooth Goncalo Alves grips.
The letter doesn't state this but the initials GWS are engraved on the right side of the frame. This hardware company is long out of business so there is no way to trace who this pistol was ordered for.
I've never fired it and the pistol appeared unfired when I bought it.
