I buying a 6" M66-2 s/n ACV9xxx; and was curious about the age/ship date, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If I am reading the standard catalog right, it looks like 1983.

The excellent book most Smith & Wesson collectors use is the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson 3rd Edition by Jim Supica and Richard Nahas. Available in bookstores or on line at Amazon, etc.
