Default A nice 32-1 Terrier

Hi folks,
it's Friday morning here in Germany and it's raining cats and dogs. So I thought the best thing to do ist to take some pictures of my latest find - a close to mint modell 32-1 Terrier complete with box and papers. S/N is R 46122 which dates it back into the 60s. The gun was for sale in an auction, but due to the fact that the seller wrote caliber .38 Special nobody seemed to be interested, because many model 36 are around here which are really cheap. A good friend of mine who is expert on S & W's said it would be worth to give the seller a call and ask for the caliber on the gun. How happy I was when he said that it is .38 S&W (not Special). So I knew that it was in fact not a simple Chief's Special, but a very hard to find, at least in Germany, Terrier. I made an offer and the deal was done. It came yesterday and looks like it never had been used. Together with the revolver came the matching box (full silver lined), the papers and a nice Bianchi holster. The grips have matching numbers as well. I especially love the color case hardening on the hammer (see picture with cocked hammer). This was real quality made by Smith & Wesson. Unfortunately I cannot find out the exact date of manufacture, but I guess it is around 1969 / 1979 when the R prefix started. I still doubt if I will shoot it or not. Usually I shoot with all my guns, but as this one is like new I'm not sure. I have some ammo on hand and will think about it. I hope you like the little revolver.
Rainer

Rainer, your gun was made between 1970 and 1973, according to the S&W book.
Your gun looks to be in great condition.
Buffalo Bore now makes decent loads for that caliber.

Great find! I have never had any experience with 38 S&W. Sure is a good looking package though! Enjoy it. Bob

Pretty little revolver. I'm envious.
