Nice gun! I have never shot 1. Was considering buying one, and bought a Model 36 instead. (needed a J frame, had none) Bob

i'd never shot 1 til this. i'm impressed. little longer grip than a j frame. better control. but not as concealable.

It has been my experience that Model 12s rarely look that clean. Bluing wear at different rates on the Al and the steel. Great gun and I wish Smith would look at reintroducing the Model 12 with a 3" heavy bbl>

Very nice. I have a 4 inch M12-3 BL. The 2 inch K frame is a lot easier to shoot that the J frame IMHO. Ideally, it is best to have two of your carry gun. Practice regularly with one and carry the other so you dont put much wear on your carry piece. I would get a 2 inch M10 to go with your M12. That way you will have a spare that will fit your carry gear.

I paid $350.00 for mine, but it has what looks like a case # scribed into the front grip frame.
The Pachmyr grips I put on it covers them though.
It is the model that I carry the most of my four K frames.
It's light, accurate, and less recoil than my J frames.
( and six shots as apposed to five in the J frames)

I'd be hard-pressed to score one like your's for under $500, in my neck-o'-the-woods.

Yes, yes, YES!
3", RB, more visible sights like the ones on the NightGuards; I'd be partial to a bobbed hammer, but that's an option.

want opinions. i love this m12. the only thing i'd like better is something in 3 in. do you think it would be worthwhile to try to trade this m12 for one? i can only afford one so i'd have to trade. what do you guys think?

Check for a crack where the barrel screws into the frame on the bottom side before you shoot it.

Trading in guns is worse than trading in cars. Sell it outright, and just live w/o a gun until you find the 3" that makes your heart skip.

What did you have to pay?
I just bought a decent one like yours in nickel for $545 shipped and received through my FFL.
The only real advantage that extra inch will get you is more positive extraction.
I wouldn't sell or trade your 2" because you will regret it on down the road.

I think ....that was a short love affair. 20 days
Keep the 12 and save your change for a 3 inch.
