Default New Kuracs on my Highway Patrolman

I just got these Kuracs last week and finally got around to taking some pics of them tonight.

They are Signature grade smooth target Cocobolos with Gold Medallions, and I think they came out great.

Back strap, check out the "Coke" Profile/palmswell:

Those Kuracs certainly take the basic Model 28 to a higher level. The grain on those stocks is nothing short of gorgeous, and with the "Coke" shape, what's not to like? Well done!

Thanks Weatherby!

I have been lucky enough this year to get grips commissioned from John & Jennifer Culina (Kurac) as well as Keith Brown.

The Culinas and Mr. Brown showed such exemplary service that I have ZERO hesitation in recommending either to anyone.

This latest batch of Kuracs that John came out with are amazing. They are a little slimmer than my other set of Kuracs, and I have Medium sized hands. Not big, not small, literally medium, and these Stocks fir them excellently.

I have not shot it yet with the stocks or tried a Speedloader, but I believe with the slimmer profile and the recessed loading area, I think Speed Loaders will work well.

And I definitely agree with "IWK2HT" - they really do dress up the HP and just enhance the look of the entire gun. The difference in appearance between when this gun wears Pachs, and these Fine Stocks is incredible.

With Pachs, it looks like a $350 gun, with these Stocks, it looks like a $700 gun.

By the way - I love the Targets you have on this one!

Does putting stocks like this on a Model 28 make it want top-strap checkering and deep blue polishing? Maybe make it only want to arrest a better criminal class? Crooked bond dealers and tax lawyers? Stop wrestling around in the mud, the blood and the beer with fools at traffic stops, mobile home parks and roadside saloons?

Absolutely beautiful!

Maybe a refinish is in the works and we will call it a 27.5 - 2

Thank you, they really do class this gun up. It is an excellent shooter, but I am glad I got the pachmyrs off and got it classed up.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that 28 owners want to make 27's out of them. They are what they are. The 28 will do anything a 27 will do, just no bling. Bob

Some folks are taking their older 28s and sending them to Fords for the Master Re-Blue finishing, and evidently they come out Breath-Taking.

The one thing the 28s don't have, which I wish they did is a Red Ramp Front Sight. I have a tough time with all black sights front and rear.

But the 28 really is an example of something having everything it needs, and nothing it doesn't.
