10-5 nickel 2" square butt
Bought one recently because I really like the looks and haven't come across one before locally. Are these collectible?

Anything is collectible!! I think most people on the forum will tell you to enjoy the gun and shoot it as it was made to be shot.
I think with it be a snubby it is more sought after than its more endowed (longer barreled) brothers.
If it is LNIB in the box with all the goodies it could be considered collectible. The model 10 was one of most produced Smiths ever made and they are very easy to come across. However, the snubby is harder to find and therefore more desirable to some.
Just my two cents.

Thanks. It will likely be shot.

Hello, harder to find one for sale now than several years ago, but found one locally a few weeks ago. It was priced much higher than some 10-6 4" models they had.

Love to see pictures of it as I love nickel and can't say I have seen the 10-5 snub with that finish.. also people just don't sell the snub and why it's getting harder to find them.

Wonderful little revolver--elegant, convenient, accurate. Here's mine, wearing birdseye maple grips by Don Collins.

I do not see nickel 10-5, 2" guns around here much and I do all the main gun shows in the Atlanta area. That's not to say they are not available, just that they are not common here. As WCraven said, people who have the nice ones don't sell them making them seem scarce.

Any 2" K Frame is collectable, collectable to shoot, collectable to keep, collectable to just have. I have yet to see a 2" K Frame I didn't like. These are a 3 screw, 4 screw and 5 screw just to keep each other company. (They all get shot).

Nice info and pictures, everyone. I believe its a '63. Where all should this era gun have an N stamp denoting a factory nickel finish?
