Value on 14-2?
I have the opportunity to get a 14-2 that serial dates to 1967, just the gun-no box, etc. Looks to be in very good shape, diamond targets, the most slight muzzle wear, 1 or 2 small blemishes in the otherwise outstanding blue, definitely been shot but also very well taken care of. The timing/lock-up is great.
The seller doesn't have a value in mind, looking for an offer from me. Out of my realm with this vintage, thanks for any help.

From your description, it sounds to be a $500-550 gun to me.

Thank you Alan. The owner is an old friend of a neighbor/friend, I want to be fair. In addition I'll need to ad roughly another $20 for the mandated Colorado background check (that's irrelevant to whether I purchase or not, just a slight additional fee).
I'll need to wait until next week to make an offer, he doesn't sound like he's in a rush to sell it.
He also has a nice 15-3, a little bit more finish wear but again great timing/lock-up, he may sell but he finds it handier to keep around than the 14.

The 6" barrel of the 14-2 does lend itself more to target shooting than home/self defense. He could probably get the aforementioned $500 outside the friend/neighbor arena. It is a 6" and not the 8 3/8" that was available? That would make a difference to me.

Sorry, yes 6". I'd really love to get it as I find myself enjoying .38spl more than any other caliber these days-light recoil, accurate and just plain fun. The plan now is to meet up with them next Saturday when I'll have the extra cash and see what we can agree on.

Last year August, I won a 14-3 on G.B. for $410 shipped & insured. No box, but target grips & hammer. There are still good deals on nice 14's out there. Oh, by the way, they are great shooters! Bob
