Gap between yoke and frame
On some of my revolvers (all frame sizes), if I press firmly on the right side of the cylinder, it creates a small gap between the yoke and the frame. On others there is zero movement. I have never had any problems with any of these revolvers. There is no slop in the fit, and everything is in perfect alignment. I'm not looking for a problem. Just wondering if this is one of those things that would characteristic to any particular revolver?

Place a finger in front of the yoke when you press on the cylinder. If you feel movement you might find where the play is.

Most likely just something that varies depending on the fit between
the front locking bolt and the hole in the end of the ejector rod. Due
to normal variations in machined parts there is going to be some
differences in how rigidly the yoke and cylinder is held in place with
different revolvers and I can't imagine that this would be model specific. Swing out cyl revolvers lack the rigidity of alignment that
solid frame single actions have.

I've fitted a new locking bolt on guns that had enough play to annoy me.
Unless it just flops around, I've never seen it be an issue though.

Most of my revolvers are pretty tight, but a few have some play. Not much, but some.
One model 60-14 had a lot of play, and I sent it into Smith & Wesson. They fixed by replacing the locking bolt and several other parts.
See here:
