Default BK versus Tyler T question

I have a 17-1, Square K frame and am wondering which would be the more comfortable adapter for a fairly small hand. I have a set of S&W target stocks and they are nice but too fat. I have tried the old pachmayr adapters but can no longer find them. If any of you have tried both the Tylers and Bk's which do you prefer and which would be better for short fingers?

thanks very much in advance

Dick

I have only used the Tyler's and they are great if you can get them. My understanding is that the BKs are the same except they are made of plastic instead of aluminum.

Tyler's customer service is lack-luster to put it mildly, but their product (when it finally arrives) is still pretty good. Not a big plastic fan which is what BK makes theirs from. I wish BK would just buy Tyler and run it properly. I know...... wishful thinking.

^^^This. You will definitely get your BK's faster than Tyler's. I've only got one BK adapter, lots of Tyler's, but I don't notice any real difference between them. Tyler's do look nicer, depending on which finish; if you're getting the matte black they're virtually identical. I got my BK in the ivory color which looks very good coupled with my Grashorn's.

I have both Tyler and BK adapters, both work well. I prefer the BK adapter do to the fact that they are less money and ship in days instead of weeks or months.

I had heard the horror stories of Tyler's service, but I got mine a couple of weeks ago about a week after sending the check to him. I called up and asked if the ones I had my eye on would fit my M&P, he said that they should, I stuck a check in the mail with the order form and shot him a quick email to let him know to keep an eye out for the order form/check. I figured it would be a month.

I guess if you want that old timey look, you have to get them in the old timey way...fill out a form and "send away" for them. I bet they'd do a lot more business if they took online orders.

I too have both and can't really tell the difference. The Model 38 in my pocket has the BK while my nickel 442 has a polished Tyler b/c it looks better. They both shoot the same, I have x-large hands w/long thin fingers.

I have a 14-1 with original S&W target stocks on them and while they a bit large for my hand I use them since they look so good and are correct for the gun . I also have a 17-3 with original magna stocks and while I like the looks of them I find them too small for my hand but with the addition of a vintage Tyler T grip I find them quite comfortable and rather like the retro look . Never tried the BK but I don't care much for plastic .

There is a place in West Tn that is a Tyler T-Grip distributor. Robertsons Trading Post, in Hendersonville, Tn. They had silver ones in stock about a month ago. Sorry I didnt save the phone # though. If you want some soon, they might have some. Good luck.

I don't have large hands, but I prefer larger stocks that cover the front of the grip frame.

I've tried the magna/T-grip combination and that will work for me. However, I've had several of the Tyler-Ts (in all frame sizes) and they all moved around on my guns - even when not shooting.

I recently bought a used M10 snub which came with one of the BK "double-tab" plastic grip adapters. It does not move around like the Tyler-T. I guess that extra set of tabs is the reason. And I don't mind that it's plastic - looks just as good as the black Tyler-T.

I have had all three and I like BK the best. I have large palm and short fingers.
