K Frame 10-7 snubbie value
I have a beautiful 10 -7 snubnose, I think it is at least 95%, I have a friend who wants to buy it, what would be a fair asking price. No box.

Without actually seeing and examining it, I'd say in the $450-$475 range if the grips are original, in excellent condition and serial numbered to the gun. The original box, papers and tool kit would have increased it by around $100 bucks if you had them.
Of course where you are located also has an affect if price.

I agree with chief38. However, I have seen earlier dashes with things like nickel finishes go easily into the $550+ range locally.
I am more of a swapper so I'd be thinking of something he has that you like that he does not value as much as your model 10 Nicest way to move up in the firearm world.

A straight FTF cash deal among friends, gun only no box or papers?
I'd say $400.00-$425.00 tops as described.

About midway through the production run of the 10-7 S&W eliminated the pinned barrel. A pinned barrel might command a higher price. Assuming 95% condition and no box, if the 10-7 in question is NOT a pinned barrel and is wearing rubber grips maybe $350-500. If it is a pinned barrel and wearing original grips then maybe $450-$600. If it's nickel add $50-100. Location seems to be a significant factor. For example prices seems to be significantly higher in California and Texas seems to be a place where bargains can be found.

Just curious, was S&W still numbering grips to guns in 1977?

Yes they numbered grips after 1977. I have 1980's guns that are still numbered.

This is a 10-7 that I recently picked up for $495 w/o extras. I would say it is in the condition you are speaking of or maybe a tad better.
