Model 38 production year

I just got a Model 38 handed down from my Grandfather. It looks about mint.
I was wondering what year it was made. My guess is around 1960.
The serial number is 1600XX. Am I close?
Also, got a rusty Model 36, serial J2998XX, any ideas?

1960 is a good guess on the model 38, perhaps 1959.

The model 36 is from 1975. We like gun photos, rust and all
