Default S&W 17-3

I have the opportunity to buy a 17-3. It has the correct numbered box with paperwork and tools. It is in excellent condition and the asking price is $750. Opinions? What is the range of years for a 17-3?

My opinion is that you should be on the way there, cash in-hand.

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, dates for the 17-3 were from 1967 to 1977. The first year would have had diamond grips. I think the price is fair - if, as you say, the condition is "excellent" and approaches what the folks here would say is in the 98% range. Although, I would caution that prices differ in different parts of the country.

Good price, if the condition is as advertised.
Go get it!

That's the going rate. Check it out good, but probably bring it home.

That's a fair price in my area of Indiana. You won't find a better 22 revolver, I'd jump on it.

Around here it wouldn't last the first day at that price.

I agree around here it would sell very quickly for that price in the condition you describe.
