Well, I'll start....... I like it!!! I don't have any engraved guns. Someday, I'll have one. It will have to be, like yours, THE ONE. I remember the gun that John Wayne carried as John Books in "The Shootist," his last film. His SAA was a blued, engraved model and it was then that I decided that someday, I'll have one blued, engraved revolver. I like yours. Nicely done, tasteful and rather elegant. Good for you for your perseverance in getting what you wanted. It gives me inspiration to someday get one.

Very nice! I've been thinking about getting an engraved Smith myself recently. But it would have to be tasteful like yours and not terribly extravagant in pricing for me to afford it right now.

I think it's very nice. After 8-10 months did the seller lower the price some?

Very Nice! I agree with bamabiker, it screams for a nice floral carved holster, but I would never want to put it in the holster. I, too, wonder who did the work?

Exceptionally beautiful revolver. The N frame .44 makes a great canvas for that artwork.
You have very discerning tastes, RKMesa. Thanks for posting such attractive photos.

What kind of soil do you plant those flowers in? Also, the fertilizer mix must be just right, as the blooms appear to be perfect!

In the factory letter, Roy states that he believes it was the work of Tom Freyburger. I sent Tom photos and asked him about the gun. He does not recall engraving it and I have not found any identifying marks on the gun.

Every S&W fan should have at least one engraved one. But remember, all "addictions" start with one...

Good suggestion! I went to my local FTD florist and they looked at me like I was crazy - go figure...

I keep coming back to look at this beautiful gun. I finally called S&W about getting one of mine engraved. She called me today & is mailing me the brochure + price list. I'm thinking either my 29-10 or 629-6, just can't decide. I love this one so......

Very nice work.....
Very nice work and tasteful. I'm just not big on engraved handguns, but then, I'm just a plain Jane purist.
PS: What is the finish on this gun? The 29 has a polished blue or nickel finish. Do they do the engraving then blue it???

The gun is high polished, but "artistically scratched" blued. They engrave it "in the white" then blue it, or in some cases nickel it.

RK,
I also watched this gun for many months and also liked the different style of engraving than "normal" Class A 29's. I think it is a great gun! Glad it has found a good home!
