Blued 27-2 5" Value? ... now a Pawn shop buy.
I came across a LNIB 5" 27-2, 3Ts, Presentation case circa 1979. I have looked it over several times and it is absolutely all correct
It's in a pawn shop. I have them down to $1K OTD.
I will go look at sales on GB but thought I would ask you all..
I wasn't looking for one but it presented itself and I am partial to good buying opportunities. Its on my gun list just not at the top. The 5" barrel really got my attention.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

I treat pawn shops like pawn shops... they have half or less invested in their asking prices. Take cash and let them know you mean business. Make an “out the door” deal. $700 - $800 would be a nice price on that 27.

I think that package for $1k OTD is a deal. You can try to negotiate more, sounds like you've already made progress, but as described that price is more than fair, where I shop anyway. I bought a five inch 27-2 in nickel also in the presentation case much as you've described for $495 also from a pawn shop; but that was in 2009. Good luck.

I’m afraid the only help you will get here is varying forms of “why haven’t you bought it yet?”
It’s a very good price but dicker if you must. And photos...

I will go back with an $800 offer. Thanks I will see where I get. There are always other guns and he won't sell it locally unless I buy it. So GB will cost him.

I would say for $ 1,000 out the door , you are certainly getting a good deal . Fair market value is probably around $ 1,200 . Keep it nice and don't shoot it and you will have a $ 2k gun in less than 10 years.
The high grade (collector grade) P & R N frames are going to do exactly what the Pythons did , or close to it. We're just a little slow catching on, but it's coming.

$1K would be cheap for that from what I have seen. I think the $1200 estimate from "bigmoneylouis" was probably sound.
In the last two weeks I have seen a couple shooter grade examples go for $550-$600 here, and I whimpered inside. While it is not a good use of money right now compared to my financial goals, for that price I would have been happy to snag one.

Great buy. I paid a couple hundred more than that two years ago for a package like yours. That is very very nice!

Good price. The prices on these n frames does vary time to time.
At $1,000 that’s a deal too. It’s condition vs price vs how bad we want it.

Yeah, the 5" 27-2 is on my short list too. I've put off buying one for about 20 years because there were a bunch of other models that took priority, so now would like to find one that's reasonably priced, but that's a long shot! Congrats on finding the right gun at the right price!!

Very nice, high-condition gun you got there, for a very good price.
Just be sure to store the gun properly, NOT in that presentation case!
