Default New to me - Model 66-1 DOB please.

I just got this one from Forum member "Lone Tree". It served with the Cass County North Dakota Sheriff's Office:

It is in the 70Kxxxx serial number range.

!!!!!!!!

Best,
Charles

Charles:

Ha! Somehow I thought you would end up with one of those!!! Good job!! That is a beauty!!! I remember looking at those four, and I think you got the pick of the litter! I can't help you very much, when I started on our force in 1975, I was given a brand new in the box 66 no dash, which I still have, so sometime after that. SCSW says that the 66-1 came in in 1977, and the 66-2 in 1982, so sometime between those dates...the book also says that the range in 1980 was from 57k to 91K, so 70K would be sometime in the middle of 1980, I would guesstimate. .... Good for you.

Best Regards, Les

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it.

I do like those dark stocks.

I started out on the job with a 4" blued Model 19 and later graduated to 66. It doesn't get much better than that!

Best,
Charles
