Default 19-4 NIB W/Box Question

Friday the 13th I traded into this unfired in the box Model 19-4 made in 1980. I traded a excellent 629-3 and $50 to get it. It has a red ramp, white outline a replacement target trigger, a standard hammer and the original trigger was also in the box. It is pinned and recessed. No rubs, scratches or blemishes anywhere.

The dealer said the original owner bought it new and that this was the original box but that it had come with a presentation case which he did not sell. Does that sound like a reasonable explanation for why the box has no S&W Logo or end labels?
