My 60 retro look
I have a 60 no dash I purchased here a couple of yrs ago from forum member regalsc. I put it in the safe and pretty much left it there. It's a nice clean gun with matching stocks.
While playing in the toy box last night I took it out and considered that I ought to put this into carry rotation. Not wanting to diminish the look of the magnas I dug into my spare parts box to see what I could find for replacements. I picked out a set of what I think are Jay Scott grips - someone please correct me if I'm wrong - that came on a 1960 40 centennial. Added the Tyler T and an S&W basket weave for carry.
Well, here it is. Comments and pics of your retro looks welcome.

I dig it! I'm not sure an the grips as far as who made them. But, I have the 'silver' version of the T Grip on my 67 and it looks nice! That may be an option for your too.

I looked for a silver T grip but didn't have one. That's really what I wanted.

I ordered mine directly from Tyler T-Grips. At the time, they're pretty archaic meaning; no on line orders. I snail mailed them a personal check....and that was last year! I haven't checked to see if they're in the 21st Century yet, but they had no silver one's in stock so I had to wait anyway for that + the check to clear. They take cashier's checks and money orders too.

Love the vintage Model 60s. I had a 1971 Mod 60 that I carried for a few years and foolishly parted with it...to a friend though so I may be able to buy it back sometime. Thanks for sharing

The grips are indeed Jay Scott, the version called Black Pearl. I had a pair but found them too slick.
The S&W holsters are of adequate quality, not up to Bianchi or Safariland in my opinion, let alone, say, El Paso Saddlery's work, or Galco, etc. If that holster is unlined, like most I've seen from S&W, it will wear your gun's finish more than a good lined Bianchi or Safariland will. I've found nearly new examples of those at gun shows at good prices.
I like to use smooth rosewood Magna grips and silver Tyler adapters on Model 60's, if I don't use Pachmayr Presentation Compacs, the older two-panel style. But the smooth rosewood stocks are hard to find and can be pricey.
Those guns are a lot more accurate than most people think. I like to use Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 135 grain JHP ammo in mine, for business carry.
I'm glad that this M-60 found its way out of the safe and onto your belt. I think you'll like it.

Check out Robertsons Trading Post for the silver Tyler's. They had them in stock last year when I got my 60. I just checked now. 33 bucks and in stock.

I did something similar with my Model 36 and a Tyler. I really like the way it just disappears when using appendix carry in that form, plus it looks great. Unfortunately I have a hard time keeping my support hand on the gun even when shooting standard .38's. I have to have a grip where I can keep all three fingers on the gun to be stable enough for me.

You have good taste in snubs & how to accessorize them taking us older fellas back in time. Nice model 60 no dash you have there from 1970.
