Default What wood are these stocks?

I got these stocks when I bought my Model 57. They were in the box with it, but they're for a K-frame, not an N.

So I put them on a Model 18. I was just wondering what wood they are.

Looks like a beautiful set of Rosewood to me. Very nice, whatever wood they might be.

Very nice. But seriously, does anyone else just cringe when they see these beautiful revolvers resting on sharp things like bricks? 🤭

I like to take photos of my long arms on my concrete driveway, not only because I prefer outdoor light and it provides a large canvas, but because it probably bugs guys like you.

Nevermind how extremely careful I am when placing the gun on the ground for the photo, along with picking it up. I'm sure guys like the OP are likewise quite careful when staging such shots.

I know what you mean. Normally I don't even lay a gun down on a table without something under it. And it doesn't matter how old, beat up, or ratty the gun is, it gets padded.

Look at the sharp edges of the muzzle and the grips with a 10X loupe BEFORE and after setting the gun on those abrasive surfaces.
There may not be damage every time, but I don't see the point in risking it. Your mileage obviously varies.
