29-2 Stocks

A few years ago I bought a 29-2 6 1/2". You know, the Dirty Harry gun. I had wanted one forever.
When it arrived, wooden display case with the tools and it appeared to be unfired after the factory. Just a little bit of turn line (until I showed it to my BIL)
Not really a collector more of an accumulator but anyway just put it in the safe and pondered about shooting it. So I decided I better check on the condition and see if it was stuck to the flock or whatever and decided to check the stocks for numbers.
Well, nothing. Not a number one inside the stocks.
Is this unusual? A lot of the posts I see here talk about the serial number also written on the stocks.
Would this mean these are not the originals?
Also, by the serial number it appears to have been made in '75-'76.

They numbered Magna stocks because they had to be final fitted to the frame.They may have numbered a few sets of target stocks initially, but quickly dropped that practice

Pretty much the only target grips that were numbered were on the 1955 Targets later known as the 25-2. You will sometimes see NT-430 on the insides meaning N Target 430 which is basically the bullet diameter of the 44 magnum

Stocks on the 44 Magnum were never routinely numbered by S&W. The stocks on your Model 29-2 are correct.
