I have been trying out various grips (stocks) on my 18-2 which has a square butt. I have tried old style Targets with speed loader cutouts, Altamont Cokes, and Altamont Roper. I like the Roper the best so far.
Attached are some pixs showing the grips on the gun. In each pix, one grip is on one side and a different grips is on the other. This gives you an idea of both their size and how the grips differ in their placement on the butt.
The 1st pix shows the Coke grips on the left side and the Targets grip on the right. The 2nd pix shows the Roper grips on the left side and the Targets grip on the right. The last pix shows the Roper grips on the left side and the Coke grip on the right.
You can see how the grips compare in how they sit on the butt. You can also see the shape of the grips from the back.
The Ropers are longer than the Targets and the Cokes. Plus they are cut further away from the trigger guard as well.
The Cokes are also longer then the Targets and are cut further away from the trigger guard than the Targets.
You can also see the "Coke bottle" shape (the palm swell) compared to the Ropers and the Targets.
Lastly you can see that the Targets are thicker than either the Ropers or the Cokes.
