Default Pawn shop model 37

New to the forum. Own a few S&Ws, mostly newer guns but have a mid 60s 28-2 I love.
Found a Model 37, about 90% bluing(or better actually), bright bore, tight lockup, no slop in the crane, nothing loose or sloppy and original grips. Serial (522Jxx) number puts it at 1971-72 I think. The shop is asking $300+tax for it. I'm not too familiar with these but have been wanting a snubbie for awhile. Plus this one is about the same age as me, so kinda neat.
Does the price sound right? Besides tax I live where I have to add the background check to the final cost. Appreciate any thoughts.

Examine carefully for frame crack around barrel and if good - buy it.

I was at a pretty big show this past weekend and I didn't see a J frame for less than $500 and nobody would move on their prices

Thanks for the advice and input. Especially to look for the possible frame crack. Will need to break out the cheaters to look for that. Having to get used to using those to inspect finer things these days. Damn eyes.
I'll be checking on it next chance I get. In the meantime, if there are any other ideas about what to be careful about I'm grateful for the advice. Don't know much about these older lightweight pistols.

Well gents, I checked it out again. The initial excitement about it caused me to overestimate the grade of the bluing. Regardless, the rest checked out. So I went for it. I also remembered that my father had either a 36 or a 37 back when I was young. So that nostalgia helped drive the decision.
Just found out a buddy of mine, who's a retired gunsmith, is quite familiar with Smiths. Never knew it til now. So I think I can bribe him into looking at it.
Thanks again for all the help!
