Well, that one isn’t unfired and no box/docs/tools etc. My dash 2 should be worth at least a grand by comparison

The only thing predictable about auctions is that they are not predictable. All it takes is two bidders that want it. The next one may not bring half that much. Thanks! Mick

Very true statement ^^^
I like pre-bans and those auctions are a roll of the dice. A pristine example of”X” May sit with zero bids for $3k, while a well used example may exceed $5k in a bidding war.

I think we're all overlooking how difficult it is to get a Tyler T in that condition these days.

I want one. Have for a couple years, but when I get ready, I will try to find one on this site. I have quite a few pieces, and only 2 did not come from here. Well one kind of came from here. I belonged to Rubiranch's brother so i sort of knew the gun and had comfort in going after it.
But in keeping with the spirit of the thread, the price paid for that 66 was nuts

WOW Starting bid was $699. It was off running from the start.
I don't see what justified the starting bid let alone the winning bid. Somebody had a bad case of "gotta have it" I guess.

I had to pay $400 for this one and it came with original box, grips shown, original grips, tools and papers. Must have bought too early. BUT, then again it did not have a Tyler T grip.

An LGS in Elk Grove, CA has a 2.5” dash 2 with factory combats (not original to the gun), no box, etc., who’s asking $1499. Been there for a while.

I know I'll never see my 2 back out of it.... BUT I may trade straight up for a nice 586 no dash no m or dash 4, or a nice p&r model 19 both in 4in variant I would lean more towards the 586 tho .... just throwing that out in the pond

I wonder if the sale will actually go through?

Around these parts, in today’s market, you’ll not find a whole lot of 2-1/2” 66’s or 19’s for that matter, priced under $700. Matters not whether they are P&R or no. Folks have recognized them as an elite carry piece. They are on the heavy side, but not unmanageable. They shoot very little different from a 4” model. A real gun in a compact package. And if you choose to load with full bore .357’s, the gun will handle them.

Had a friend put a gun on GB a month or so ago for me.
He thought it was worth about $3500 but due to a "flaw" he figured
$2500 would be about it for this one.
In the end two guys wanted it and it ended up selling for $4950.00
Its awesome when it ends this way and you're the seller.

Right now, there is a great deal more interest in the 2.5” and 3” than the 4 and 6”.

Everyone comes into an auction hoping for a good deal, once the bidding gets rolling hang on. The thought of someone else having the gun you spent so much time thinking about is too much for some to handle. I've gotten in some all out bidding wars and almost always come out on the losing end. Well one time I over paid and won a gun that I would have never bought if I saw it in person. Lesson learned

Bingo.
Fired, in real nice condition, but no box or tools, it is a $900.00 gun, tops. I sold three last year at that price and everyone was happy.

Buying an early M66 or M19 without seeing a clear picture of the forcing cone is a risky business.

I believe he is stating that it is an early serial number. It’s an early one to me as well.
